I'm considering a Fortress Anchor (FX-7) for my 23' bay boat. They seem expensive, but my buddy says they are worth the money. Do any of you have any input, good or bad? Thanks for the help.

Being aluminum, they are probably much lighter. But, you'll still get just as much mud as the steel models. Also, there is always a good chance of loosing one with as many pipelines as there are in our area. I always carry a spare just in case, and I'd hate to drop $100 if it hangs up. My 2 cents.

I have an aluminum anchor that is made by the same folks that make Fortress. It is called a Guardian. Great anchor. I tried 3 other types before I finally found this one. The best i tried by far. The Fortress is supposed to be even better. I would highly recommend it.

1. Go to wreck in Lydia Anne channel
2. Put on mask and fins and swim down about 25 feet
3. Find the one I had to cut off
4. ????
5. Profit

Buy cheap anchors.
