i was there last weekend and we did outstanding .limted out on reds and caught two flatties ,no trout but we limted out in skipjack also. Laughing we had a blast.i saw a guy almost get hit by a boat while he was wading on a sandbar.at first i thought they were going to pick him up and then the at the last minute they turned .me my son and my freind could not believe what had just happened.that guy was pissed.that could have been a horrible boating accident.people need to pay more attention when they ride the shore line looking for reds.well happy catching my fishing freinds.

Looks like my backyard is going to be seeing some more traffic very soon.

Hit that area late this AM. 2 others were finishing a wade with nothing on their stringers. 2 boats were there also and left after a long drift. I managed 2 reds, one about 15" and the other released was about 21". I took a run over to the surf to see conditions and there was REALLY BIG SURF. Weeds were still thick as ever. Don't know when we'll be able to fish it. I'm having surf withdrawals.

@ masterwader: were you in the blue yak?

@zia:

My brother and I were wading as well, but we were off the water by 10:30. The bay was busy this morning- we saw 6 different boats, one kayak fisherman, and the two waders besides ourselves. We ended the morning with 1 oversized red, 2 slot, 2 under, and 4 slot trout, all of which were released (we had plenty of meat after yesterday!). I'll be posting the report and some pictures later on. Which boat were you running?

Hey flats, I was wading. I parked all the way to the north. Saw a black truck by the big dunes and another vehicle parked in front of me. I think he was checking the trot lines there on the north shoreline.

@zia: ok, i think we saw you coming in as were were walking back. I was parked over by the big dunes... The whiteish toyota that was parked in front of you (i think) was a guy fishing bait, he was in the same spot all morning, and we saw him land 3 good-sized fish.
