I read an article in the Island Moon today about this,

could not find it on their site, but here's a link about it,
http://www.wethepeoplenews.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=542:development-threatens-access-to-wilson-cut&catid=6:texas-government&Itemid=10

and a discussion on TKF that references it
http://www.texaskayakfisherman.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=158116

If I found the Singer Treasure I would buy up as much of the Island as possible and make it a Wildlife Management Area. They can develop Mathis, I sure don't want our Island to turn into Galveston where there's little access to the backside. Wade & yak fishing spots are harder to get to there.

Thanks I commented on the link. I received that info about that development earlier and most of my industry contacts wondered how this project could ever get funding in light of development problems with Newport Dunes and Tortuga Dunes, and the proposed highrise condo development.

Also there was a developer trying to put up a dry stack in the Bluff just to the north of the causeway. Several articles about it saying it was a done deal, financing already approved etc. Then.... nada.... Bluff Bay Marina was the website name....
