Finally broke down and got a new digital camera. It's been a while since I posted on Corpusfishing or my site. I'm trying to duplicate the famous IMS cleaning table shot here...Let me know how I did.
All (over 20") caught with corky over knee deep mud/shell scattered rock. Should be grass also, but grass and green water are tough to find down south. Plenty of smaller trout caught on the deep grasslines today, and I lost a really big one too (would have made a better pic). ...I like a FEW of each fried sometimes.

Trout 6 lbs on the boga. Normally I release that size, but she took the lure sideways deep. This time of year I'm after one bite. Had a couple "big bite's" today and actually hooked a really big trout that spit the lure within a few feet of me. Happens all the time....That's what keeps me going back, even with a sore back and wrist. Thanks _________________ Grind |

big J, check out the sticky post at the top of the board about using artificials. He really explains his corky technique in detail.
Now, that being said, I have read it about 10 times and I still don't feel like im working the damn thing right I think its one of those things that you either have to be shown, or you just gotta throw the damn thing for a week trying different techniques till you start catching fish. _________________ ...if my boss ever finds this forum I'll be unemployed... |

Get in a rythm with the corky and have confidence in it. The corky imitates a mullet and that what the trout are feeding on now. Tie the original on, and take no other lures (maybe an extra). Fish it slow when the water is below 60 degrees. Cast it out far, let it drop, give it four or five short quick twitches, reel slowly and repeat. You don't need to get fancy, or keep it moving too fast right now. Main thing is use BRAID!!! I've been told I fish it wrong, so who is really the expert??....find what works for you. It catches big fish, trust me.

Sounds like walking the dog, only underwater. Very similar to this maybe?

Thanks for the report, Joe.
As for the Rapala subwalk.........that thing will wear your butt out. Looks great in the water, but really taxing on your arms. _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |
