I saw the Bob Hall cam after lunch and it looked better than it did all weekend. So after running a few errands with my wife I loaded up and headed to the beach. Hit the beach and the water was looking a little clear and green. It made it a lot easier to see all the weed in the water.
Ended up at a spot south of The Bowl where I saw some mullet flying out of the water. There were tons of finger mullet in the water. A one armed blind man could have caught a dozen with each throw of the cast net! I tried live mullet and caught skipjacks. Then I tried dead mullet and caught skipjacks and finally I tried dead skipjack and caught….skipjacks. Somewhere in there I did catch one 17inch smack on a live mullet. There was a lot of weed out there but for the most part I could leave the line out and it would get hit before the weed got too bad. Hopefully this weed will get out of here real soon.
