I need to get a boat cover for my 210 BW outrage. I have been using a harbor freight tarp and it has become useless. I am looking on the internet but if there is someone local that makes these out of sunbrella or a similar material... Looking to spend around 300ish... I am skeptical about the internet becasue I have already bought two from academy and they did not fit...!

I have a canvas tarp from academy its green and i think 24x12 to replace the custom made cover i had that was tearing and it is great it has lasted almost three years already and its still in great shape. I use it to cover my 21ft cajun its long enough and wide enough. It is canvas so the price is i believe 89 dollars but it is well worth it since a custom job is going to be several hundred dollars.

If you buy a custom cover just make sure that it's stitched with Teflon thread. Thread is the weak link in UV rays. Sunbrella is guaranteed for 5 years but anything besides Teflon thread will be coming apart in 2-3 depending on color.
I do this kind of thing as a part of my sailmaking business and believe me when I tell you that you will get what you pay for. If you want a cover that fits and LASTS, you may not be able to get it for $300.

Forget the name of the shop, but it's off of Leopard behind The Astor Restaurant. And I'd take Beachbum's advice too. |

I get my covers from Cabela's in Buda. You can order online and save shipping right now. I usually pay about $240 for my Sunbrella cover for my 22 ' pontoon boat. Good Luck! _________________ Character is doing the right thing because it is the right thing to do, not because someone else is making you do it.

Just trying to save everyone some trouble. Less money spent up front is a fools errand when you'll need to have the cover restitched at LEAST and/or replaced at worst after 3-4 years!!!!
In the south Texas sun I'd be shocked to get any more than two good season out of white Dacron thread and maybe one from white nylon, but the former is what 80% of the places use and the latter is used by maybe 18%, give or take a few!!! Mostly it's the tent and awning places that use crappy thread. Go FIGURE! _________________ Dave

check on craiglist, there is a guy over in Ingleside that I have seen post on there. Also, the place behind the Astor Restraunt has done excellant work at a very reasonable price for our fire dept. in the past, it has been several years now.

I am starting to lean more towards the Eagle aluminum carport. It would cost about 800 installed but it will also last longer and be more effective than any boat cover. Still deciding and not sure how the city code enforement views those carports!!! I bought another harbor freight tarp in the mean time for 25.00 the first one lasted about 3 months.
