WEnt offshore this morning with intentions of strictly diving. Hit the rigs ff bob hall crap visibility so headed to the 30 mile rig. 10 miles offshore found a TREE like 50 feet long and out of the water in blue water. Caught 5 dolphin the biggest was 10 pounds. O and I only brought 2 fishing poles since i planned on diving the short rigs and I only had 1 10 pound bag of ice....... After catching the dolphin I called SKIPPER from this board and he met me at the jetties with another forty pound of ice. Headed back 10 miles to the tree that I marked... It was .5 miles off course due to the currents. No more dolphin and it did end up in the green water. Took a shot at one dolphin with the spear gun and missed by 5 inches or so about a 10 pounder. After all that I went to the 7.5 mile rig and the bob hall rigs again. Shot one nice snapper and that was the day Headed back out tomorrow AM will have report tomorrow night.
TYLER HOW DID YOU DO out of PORT A???? |

| O and I radio anyone for some ice outta packery and a boat responded that he would come to our location with 10lbs of ice in exchange for our location and a fish... I gave him a rough estimate of where we were and he never showed. or radio'd back for our excact coordinates!!! On the way back in the first time we passed none other than the guy trolling around too close in!!! A HOLE!!! |

Now that's a crew.
Guy sitting on a tree in the Gulf calls a guy standing on land in CC and a hand off of ice is then in the making.
Gunbuyer, I haven't seen a poot eating grin that big since Luke went back to the northeast and fished with Pops and the Uncle.
Wonder where that branch will land?

It was a good time!!!
Tyler, how far out were your Mahi? I am headed out in the AM... Were there weeds or rips at a certain mile mark? I am sure this post will not make it to you in time for me to pick your brain!!! Did you guys troll for the dolphin or bait them up at some weeds? Thanks for any and all information. |

You guys are killing me! I'm stuck at the office and the boat is just sitting at the dock waiting to roll......
Good to see the Mahi finally followed the blue water in..... wasn't much out there a week and a half ago.
Awesome and very encouraging reports! _________________ -Dave

If I was catching and shooting Mahi in water like that, I would still be smiling next week. Stellar report man, thanks for sharing. _________________ ...if my boss ever finds this forum I'll be unemployed... |
