Me and a buddy went out Sunday at about 6am walking the flats. I caught one dink trout on a red/white ssj and he caught a few on shrimp and a cork. About 9:30 I see some bait fish getting stirred up and see some action on top. Threw the ssj for a while longer with no substantial strikes so I switched over to a pink/chartreuse top dog and immediately hook up to a 20" red. Bait moved on a few minutes later, kept throwing the dog and got one more massive strike. Fought it for every bit of ten seconds, started loosening my drag, wound up giving it slack for a split second and it was a gonner. Oh well, fun day on the water. Little to no grass, water was unbelievably clear with calm waters. Couldn't ask for a better day.

sounds like a beautiful day. thanks for the report. Weedless water and some fish to show for it, thats good stuff right there. I have two pink topwaters too that I never fish long enough to give the benefit of the doubt. maybe now I will have more faith.

Go to the surf one morning and throw those pink topwaters in the 1st and wade gut's. It's my favorite color.
