How many different parking permits are there?? I.E. is there one for the city beach parks, county beach parks, How about for different counties??
I have had the one for Corpus (Packery Channel) - first time I ever fished in Corpus was in November - a real screw job to have to pay the $12 bucks for a month and a half. I guess it would be too hard to put a date on the pass so that the "Parking Police" would have to read the sticker to see if it was valid, or maybe pro-rating the costs by how many months left in the year at the time of purchase.
The real screw job is being a 100% Disabled Vet and I get free fishing and hunting licenses, free access to Texas State Parks and US National Parks and Forests, yet have to buy Parking Stickers. |

I dont know ... I uasualy spend a lot more than $12 on a fishing trip and I live here in Corpus Christi.
Dont seem like such a hardship to spend $12 a year for beach access.
Padre Island access is about the same.
However ... there are a LOT of other places to go and fish where the pass is not needed.
Just south of Bob hall pier past the county line is one example of miles fo free beach parking. In fact Bob Hall pier has free parking.

| At PINS, you have 2 passes. One is red for the park and a blue one for Bird Island Basin. If launching a boat at BIB, you are suppose to lay the blue pass on the dash so that it is visible to the rangers. Otherwise, a ticket may be waiting for you or possibly a tow bill. |

ah, there you go...forgot about the Blue pass for BIB, i haven't launched there in years, i mainly just fish the beach and buy the year pass from the ranger station and it's red. _________________ Trophy whitetail and exotic hunts on some of the finest ranches Texas has to offer, www.mcoutfitterstexas.com

It's not so much "past the county line" anymore. The Wonderful World of Numbskulls down at City Hall essentially "annexed" the first mile & 1/2 of Kleberg County (for the purposes of keeping the beach clean through their AWESOME Parks Department) and now you have to go down to Marker 252 or so to get to the free area! |

If you have disabled vet license plates you get your sticker for free. You just have to show proof to the parks dept and they will give you a stiker for free. Also show your disabled vet plates at PINS and you get the life time pass or access pass as it is called. State law says no state, county or city government agency can charged you for parking with disabled vet plates. You can even park free at airports which is really nice on trips. I have parked free at American Bank Center, downtown parking meters, DFW, San Antonio and Corpus airports. The parks dept can give you a hard time because I had to show them the reg from the state before the believed me. _________________ Mastergunner, supporter of hardheads for state fish of Texas |
