So what is the limit on reds?????????? Is it still 3 fish 20-28" and one over 28 with a tag that counts as part of the 3 fish limit or am i wrong.

b Red drum special regulation: During a license year, one red drum over the stated maximum length limit may be retained when affixed with a properly completed Red Drum Tag and one red drum over the stated maximum length limit may be retained when affixed with a properly completed Bonus Red Drum Tag. Any fish retained under authority of a Red Drum Tag or a Bonus Red Drum Tag may be retained in addition to the daily bag and possession limit as stated in this section

I appreciate all the positive feedback. The reason all the fish we on the stringer is bc we had the Sail Line out with 25 hooks and when we retrieved it we had hit the jack pot on Reds. I started placing them on the stringer as we were bringing in the Sail Line. Once I took a pic of my buddy we started measuring and releasing.

3 fish limit and you can keep an additional oversized with the tag. 4 fish total. You can also return your oversized tag to TPW and buy 1 more for the year.

Sail line with mullet? Is that legal? If it is I need to tell my uncle because I hit me up for alot of plastics for his sail line. Shocked

TPWD Regs read as follows:

Sail Line:
For use in SALT WATER only. A type of trotline with one end of the main line fixed on the shore, the other end of the main line attached to a wind-powered floating device or sail.

* Nongame fish, red drum, spotted seatrout, and sharks may be taken with a sail line.
* No more than 1 sail line may be used per fisherman.
* The sail line must be attended at all times the line is fishing.
* Sail lines may not be used by the holder of a commercial fishing license.
* Sail lines may be used 7 days a week.
* Tag Requirements:
o Must have a valid Saltwater Trotline Tag for each 300 feet of mainline or fraction thereof being fished.
* Construction and Design Restrictions:
o Sail line may not exceed 1800 feet from reel to sail.
o Sail and the most shoreward float must be bright orange or red color. All other floats must be yellow. No float may be more than 200 feet from the sail.
o A weight of 1 ounce or more must be attached to the line not less than 4 feet or more than 6 feet shoreward of the most shoreward float.
o Reflectors of not less than 2 square inches shall be attached to the sail and floats. They must be easily seen from all directions. This applies for sail lines operated from 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise.
o May have no more than 30 hooks.
o There is no hook spacing requirement.
o No hook may be placed more than 200 feet from the sail.
o May be baited with either natural or artificial bait.
* Placement and Location Restrictions: Must meet placement and location requirements for saltwater trotlines.

dang I got bamboozled by my uncle. Its cool I won the lures in a side bet but he did take alot.

That sounds like a big pain in the but i'll stick to R&R!!!!!!!!!
