I'm currious how many people would be interested in participating in an informal, BTB (beyond the breakers) kayaking tournament for kingfish this summer. I'm thinking July/august timeframe. Unlike lots of other forms of fishing, Group fishing is encouraged, and potlicking is welcome - primarily because there is safety in numbers, and it is not wise to BTB alone. Just reply back if you are remotely interested. This is also a good time to learn how to BTB fish if you have always wanted to, but never done it before.

Format will be simple this year - 3 largest kingfish will win. Maybe a side pot for the single largest ling caught. Those who don't like to eat kingfish can donate their catch to Timmons - they will gladly take them, Kay will appreciate it!

Feedback please!

Thanks.

If I had a yak that might be fun. You would have to keep Oz from competing so it would be fair. Wink Laughing

I've been wanting to paddle a kayak to a rig or something for a few years. I'd be interested if not so much for a tourney but for the experience. Heck, I've never even caught a kingfish before. Always thought it'd be fun to head out in a small flotilla of kayaks to a rig or nearshore and get something besides trout or reds.

I think I could provide a fairly stable platform for filming, if you needed one?

I'll even for-go fishing to drive the boat!

This is sounding like a fun trip! I want to watch you guys get dragged by a King Laughing Laughing Laughing

Im all in, I have been waiting to go with enough people to make it a little bit safer. I have gone out several times BTB to drop off bait but never stayed to long. I would love to experiance the excitment of going out with everyone.
