The weather was too nice not to be on the water so I took the kids out and anchored up on the edge of one of the channels along Laguna Shores. Baited up the kids with some fresh dead in hopes of a black drum or two but the pinfish had their own ideas and repeatedly picked the hooks clean. I tossed soft plastics, working the channel wall dropoff, but didn't have any luck.

After an hour or two the kids had their fill so I dropped them off and headed out to Pita to pull a couple of drifts. Caught a dink trout on a TTK, dropped anchor, then proceeded to start reeling in the dinks on a Gulp in 5-6 feet of water.

Headed in after an hour or so and probably caught 20 with one going 16.5 and the rest being undersized. Beat sitting around watching the Olympics.

Edit: water temp was ~57 out on the bay and 61 back in our canal.

10-4 Sean. Those are great boats by the way. I have a 1975 (maybe older) 13' whaler back in NY that I am trying to get down here, just can't logistically figure out a good way to do it. They are really a perfect bay boat.
