Can anyone down there tell me anything about Mosca bay boats? Like/Dislike? Why? They look like a good boat.

I'm looking for something that can get me into and out of the semi-shallows 12inches and ride out a rough bay. I'm trying to stay somewhere between $20 to $25K. I can't tell what the Mosca's are going for based off of their website.

I'm interested in the 19ft Ghost. Any insight would be appreciated.

GO TALK TO CESAR. HE HAS SOLD A LOT OF BOATS TO PEOPLE FROM THE AUSTIN AREA. THE 19 FT IS NICE AND PRACTICAL AND WLL DO GOOD WITH A 90 SUZK. THE BOAT HAS A LOT OF STANDARD EQUIP THAT OTHERS CONSIDER OPTIONS AND YOU GET TO PICK YOUR COLOR. THE 19 WILL RUN SHALLOW AND GET UP SHALLOW.

my dad bought a short shaft motor from them, and they installed a long shaft...the rigging of the motor was horrible, it wasn't test run by them after installation, and we wasted a good day or two of fishing getting it set up right...they did eventually hang the right motor on it....

I have heard good things about their boats, but get it rigged somewhere else to avoid headaches!

Nice boats! pricy but nice.

I am not sure you can get a new Mosca for 25K, maybe a used one if you find somebody who is broke and needs the money.

Check Craigs list, they usually have a Mosca or two up for sale, that will give you an idea what your gonna pay used, probably close to your high limit mentioned above.

Waterman Boatworks has a flats boat ready for rigging (new)

Waterman Boatworks is a manufacturer of custom shallow water fishing boats.

I appreciate all of the info. The boats I have rode in are all out of my reach $$$$$ so I am trying to get some insight into the other brands I haven't been in prior to spending two months test driving 10 different brands.

While you look check this out. Sweet. Don't know that it is in that price range. But I have seen these on the water and they go real skinny. They go places I wouldn't even think about going.

Go to the website and check out the boats. They really are a dry and super shallow running boats. Go to www.moscaboats.com and check out the video links. I worked with Ceasar many years ago. His boats are awesome. Ceasar has always been helpful and he has used models at times under consignment. I was just watching the videos the other night. To me, the boats are very reasonable. It's the damn motors that are so expensive. A buddy of mine bought a brand new boat this year and it's unreal the motor alone was 25K. He's a guide and I'm sure he got some kind of deal on it. Boat and motor was over 50K. If I had my choice, I'd go with a Mosca or a Lake and Bay boat. They are high dollar also but, unless you're a guide and really use it 250 to 300 days out of the year they should last a long time. I couldn't access the Bay and Lake website but check this recently sold boat and check out the videos at Mosca. If you can, wait until a boat show. One year here, a boat dealarship got a hold of some Actioncraft boats from the manufacturer. They were 2 years old and were display models. They were brand new boats with same year motors. Never hit the water once. I regret not buying one of those flats boats that year. They were like 30K retail and they were going for 11K - 15K. They were gone / sold when I went back and talked with them to make some sort of deal. Good luck and go see Ceaser. Ask him to take you for a test drive. Maybe he will take you fishing.

I recently made a purchase from Cesar and Lucy at Mosca Boats and I wouldn't recommend Mosca Boats to anyone unless I didn't like you. Took over a year to get my unfinished boat after promised 3 months and the list just goes on and on. Whatever you do DO NOT give a down deposit on a Mosca; you wont get it back after you figure out you made a huge expensive mistake unless you have time to burn on something that isn't worth the money you paid them for over a year ago and your boat still isn't finished.....just from my unprofessional nightmare Mosca experience....

ya 5more. Saw this post and thought Id give it my honest answer. The forums on 2coolfishing are like North Korea....your not allowed to post honestly when there is a good experience/bad experience forum thread about a product. 2coolfishing needs to be BANNED from Texas for not being American and listening to both sides of a subject........2cool is a good site but it sure is sad to see all those fake post on Mosca and not see the real ones because they have been banned by Commies.

Redfly, go to 2coolfishing.com and look through their classified ads. You may find an excellent rig for what you can afford. Good luck finding what you want.

The deal with forums like these, they have sponsors and no matter if Mother Theresa had a bait stand or guide service someone would find fault with her and blab bad stuff about her on the web. No site could be possible without sponsors and that's pretty much what it boils down to

Very Happy
