I decided to take advantage of getting out of class early on wednesday and headed to the river in search of some fresh catfish for dinner. Put in and paddled to a hole that usually produces some good cats. Well when i got there the water was full of small baitfish gettin blasted by a variety of species. Got out the ultralight and white grub and started havin a blast. Ended up with trout, red, crappie, whitebass, catfish, and of course a snook. she wasn't big but a snook none the less and odd for the location I thought.

Sounds like a killer afternoon. Having moved here from Central Texas, I have not caught a single freshwater species. I am assuming you are speaking of freshwater cats, and not hard heads. I wish I knew where you paddled to. I might meet you there in the drifter.

Question is, do you need a saltwater and freshwater fishing license to catch both ?
