Never over there in winter. Have no idea. Long run even from Goose Island.

I went over there the first weekend of this month and my buddy went back this week. There were a few trout hanging in the deeper part of the bayou and schools of reds busting bait along the shorelines but it wasn't heavy action by any means. And it certainly is pretty with lots of wildlife hanging around.

If you want to see some of the pics from the area check out Kendal Larson's photos from the trip this week. Kendal (blesker is his online handle) is a friend & photographer and has the cover photo on TPWD Mag right now (the falconry photos).
