Where are you finding the ge 4509 bulbs for the flounder lights? Bluffer used a 1409 . I read that the a/c landing lights are 13 volts, 25hr life, but they put out about 100,000 candle power which is great. I found that the prices average about $ 10.00 ea is this about right. Question Question

Ironmam, I used the GE 4509 landing lights for years. Floated a 12v battery in an innertube with other stuff and in many cases used the light all night. Never ever had a light to fail. Frequently had two lights on 1 battery. Rig always worked very well.

Stan....Poppadunn has it right. This is a great bulb for a flounder light, I used them for years. I would get them at Island supply.

NAPA near SPID and Airline (East of Airline, south frontage road (take approach from NILE, Airline exit from SPID overshoots it)) But they are quite proud of them at $16 each.

IMS - don't forget about tax. That 8.25% you won't have to pay if you order out of state makes a big difference. Many times it makes up for the shipping.

Technically, you're supposed to submit a "use tax" for items purchased out of state. I have no idea of the specifics.

4509's suck IMHO. They don't last long at all. I blow one at least once a year. (I have 3 flounder lights). Now I use the H7604. It's a halogen, less watts, but more lumens, plus it only draws 3.3amps. Check it out.
