i've hooked up two (or more) deer feeder batteries and they'll run one light for a while.
I agree w/ robul and the 12V, if you've got one laying around. _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |

Bought one this past weekend in Aransas Pass at Wal-Mart. The prices for marine batteries ranged from 40 to 80 bucks. Now for MY question - aren't those a little heavy to carry around while floundering??? |

We would always use a 15" tire tube stretched around a #3 galv. washtub
The tub worked very good for holding the battery and small icechest with the beer. We would get the washtubs at Padre Island Supply but I'm sure they will have the at Home Depot or Lowes.

I know some guys that use the batteries out of those scooter toys kids ride around in; i.e. jeeps, cars, etc.
I do not know how much those batteries cost, but I am thinking I heard $50.00 for two.
Again, just what I have picked up on listening to others. They put the batteries in a back back, and they will run one light for 4 to 5 hours.
Hope this helps!! |

Best is to pull a Kayak behind you. carries your Battery, ice-chest, sticks, ect easy. Floats in 3in water to. _________________ -STAY THIRSTY MY FRIENDS!- |

That is way too much to carry around, the less the better, I can't believe that anyone would want to haul all that around. 1 small battery, 1 small bad boy light, 1 gig, and a stringer full of flounder.
