Anyone up to kayaking a rig Nov 1.

Early sunrise trip until about 11:30. We'll see what we can do in a short trip.

There are two rigs about 150yds apart in front of the blue water tower, maybe three miles out. Going out at first light.

Weather permitting, otherwise go to Wilson's cut.

C'mon peeps 93 views and no takers.
That's like my fishing sometimes.

You mean noone wants to spend three or four hours sitting in water cold enough to make doo-dads shrivle?

It'll be a lot of fun.

I'm not sure if it's the cold water that's scaring people away. It may be the 2-3 ft forecast. I'd be afraid to take my yak out in that. I'd be wary of taking a bay boat out in that...

I don't think it will be that bad. I've done it in worse, but if it is bad we just go across 361 to Wilson's cut

2-3's are swells. No sweat. That's prime conditions. 2-3 ft w/ a period of 6+ seconds are just rollers - 2-3 footers in the bay w/ a period of 2-3 seconds is a complet different story. I'd go, but I'm saving my hall pass for my big bowhunt/fishing yak trip to del rio next week Nov 7-11. Wink

I went[ KAYAKED] last Sunday to the rig on the northern part of JP luby. It is 2.4 miles according to the GPS. My advise is to look at the weather, particularly the wind[Good conditions are 5-10 mi SE, ABOVE 15 you will probably get in trouble]. Even in calm seas the wind will make a 30 min trip much longer. Also I consider a VHF radio a requirement, as well as a compass, GPS, lots of water, and more water. Anyway I will be at the north part of JP tomorrow checking the water, and perhaps do a rig trip or at least BTB.
