Waking up to a strong North wind, Cole and I met up with Wayne and his Dad aboard their 31' Fountain, Marlin Magic. By the time we got the boat in the water, the wind had died down to almost nothing and just like that we were screaming out past the jetties in search of a great rip that Wayne had hit the day before. They had gone 0 for 5 on bills the day before, and unfortunately we wouldn't do much better today. But other pelagic predators stepped up big, and within 5 minutes of trolling I landed a great wahoo to start off the slaughter.

Wayne followed suit with a donkey of a Dorado, tipping the scales at 43+ pounds.

After boxing that weedline bully, Wayne followed him up with a nice wahoo.

Shortly thereafter, a cracked out blue smashed the center rigger ballyhoo but we were unable to hook up. Cole added a few more dorado to the box and the action slowed to a crawl for the hotter part of the day. We proceeded to grind along the weedline until we hit the holy grail of dolphin, both the mammal and fish variety.

Once we topped off the box with more mouth-watering mahi, we spent the rest of the afternoon chasing down Mr. Blue Suit. Even after making two more appearances raising chaos in the spread, ole stickface never agreed to meet up at the boat.
Thanks again to Wayne and Mr. Brock for the great trip, definitely one I won't forget anytime soon!

| That was great! Thanks for the photos and report, Sam. Some great eats right there! Snooker Ed told me how great Wahoo are as sashimi. He was correct. |
