I normally use the Port A tide chart on this website for knowing the tide, and I have learned to estimate the time difference depending on my location.
Since last year, I have had trouble accomplishing this task regarding the JFK and Humble area.
Last night was a perfect example:
Chart indicates an outgoing tide, through about midnight and then an incoming tide starting in the wee hours of the morning. At the JFK, it was not so.
Upon arrival, water was flowing north to south at a fair pace; therefore, I assume with Packery and Port A it was coming in. Is my thinking off here?
Perhaps I am incorrectly reading the chart.
Any help appreciated. |

NOAA has tide forcasts for Packery Channel. The map looks like the station is on the Intracostal waterway:
