What will you do when gas hits $ 4.00 a gal or more. Just wondering what everyone is thinking. My main mode of tranportation is my 4x4 titan pu. It uses its share of gas. I will be looking at a motorcycles more in the upcoming future as a mode of transportation to and from work.

Run a heavy-duty rubber hose from each seat in the boat to the carburetor.

Keep on truckin... I have a 4 x 4 1 ton Chevy and I just go to work 9 miles, and then to Packery another 5 miles...Sometimes on Fridays run out to PINS.. I am going to keep my truck and just try not to worry about it.. We have a Turbo Diesel VW beetle that gets 55 mpg on highway... I wish they would make a mini Truck and put that engine in it... Very Happy

At 4.00/gal. there will be no more road trips to fish for me. There will probably be even fewer home water runs. Mad

I remember back in 1979 there were long lines at the gas pumps because there was little or no gasoline. Now there is gasoline but sky high prices. I think the supply and demand theory has been shot to s%!t. This is NOT good old American capitilism at work here.

Motorcycles have been on my mind for a while, but the best thing we can do is keep Hillary out of the Whitehouse so we can keep Iran outta Iraq.

High gas prices are affecting us all except for maybe the rich and famous.
I look at the prices of motorcycles anywhere from 3-8 grand for a descent bike. unfortunatly for me the Triumph @ 8 grand catches my eye over the street scooters. To bad the bike has to be paid for before one really starts to reap the rewards. On the other hand i can pay for a bike with what I save by parking my truck for the week. Kinda sorta. I will probably get run over the first week here in the Bluff. %$# Smash, bang! #*& Sad what to do?

Toyota makes the HI LUX diesel in other countries, why not bring those here.

A small light truck in diesel would be great!!!!!

I don't want a tuck that is a hybrid with all the sand, to me that just would not work. At 4bucks a gallon I will just walk down the street to the laguna and strap my yak to a wagon.

Keeping Iran out of Iraq won't help gas prices. I recall George saying that Iraq's gas production would pay for its own reconstruction. Hasn't happened.

I hate to think we would be willing to sacrifice more of our soldiers in Iraq in the mistaken belief that staying in Iraq will keep gas prices from going higher. Hasn't happened yet; in fact, prices started going up when George started the Iraq War.

I traded in my Oldsmobile for a Honda way back in 1999 when prices went over $2.00 a gallon. When my Honda dies, I plan on getting something that gets 30+ or more mpg, or an electric or a hybrid. Until then, I consolidate errands, cut out unnecessary driving, use my kayak more than my bay boat, use artificials or self caught bait rather than bought bait, fish at the closest place on the beach rather than driving way down PINS.

I also plan on trying to find more fishermen to share an excursion & the price of gas, rather than going alone or with only one other...sort of a fisherman's version of carpooling. Maybe we need to start a "fisherman's carpool list." Anyone interested?
