Alright, so reading Big John's weekend trip made me wonder whether or not I should cancel my planned trip for this coming weekend. Normally I wouldn't blink at the sight of soft sand (F250 v10 4X4 with a 4" lift and 35's), but I'll have the kids with me-- the thought of getting stuck and having to explain my kids' explanation of the string of explatives as I dig out to my wife when we get back has me reconsidering...
Of course, if the wind stays up, they wouldn't hear me anyway.
Is the driving really that bad? _________________ Fish ON! |

I did not see any 4wd vehicles stuck, with the exception of one red ford F-150, but he snapped his rear axle. All I could do was give the the tow number to call.
Anyway, you shouldn't get stuck. I drive a stock Durango and never took it out of high. So you should be okay.
Looks like next weekend will be better driving anyway. They are predicting heavy rains this week for most of south and central texas. Should pack the sand down like a highway. Then sunny just in time for the weekend.
Have fun! _________________ GOBZA!!!

I'm down here now and we got 3" down pour last night that has really pact down the sand and turned everything into a mud hole. Like John said, it should be good in a few days. |

The beach always changes. It was horrible Sunday morning. It had just been too dry too long and the tide was in about as far as it could blow. _________________ Pinsbeach
