With all the talk about saving the trout. Does anyone have a good guess as to how many fishing tournaments we have in a summer? There seems to be ten or more per weekend. I have a personel rule ( its only mine, I not selling it on anyone) that if I catch a trout 26" or better I take a picture and release it. But if I'm fishing in a tournament a 26 to 28" trout is possibly worth some cash on a slow day. Hmmm what do I do with him? Shoot, I need some cash to cover the fee and the gas! Bend the rule for today and chunk him in the ice. Get to the weight in and it was a good day for solid trout. 20 Boats and everyone has a 26 to 28" trout in the box now only to get beat out by one 31"trout. Maybe we should promote more digital picture and scale tournaments, catch and release and such. It's just food for thought.
