| I have family coming down for Thanksgiving and need to know where to take them to look for shells. Anywhere from Port A to the Mansfield channel. Thanks |

The best place is that shop with the huge fiberglass shark that you walk through in the front. Other than that, last Friday the beach got real good after about the 30 mile marker. Driving at low tide was easy in the morning, coming back in the afternoon as the tide was rising we lost the flat beach and had to take the soft high road. Plan accordingly have fun and be safe. _________________ Lord, help me be the person my dog thinks I am. |

| Head down to around the 50 mm on PINS for shells. On the way keep the eyes open you never know. If you can arange to be on the beach at sun rise and down to about the 12-15 mm you will probably see several Island deer + numerous species of birds and coyotes. |

| Drive down the pins and stop and walk into the dunes. Sometimes between dunes in 'blow out" areas you can find lots and lots of big shells. |

Best fresh shells are found in the last mile before the Port Mansfield jetty. Some of the best beach combing areas for old but large shells, bits of coral, fossils, bottles, etc. are behind the dunes around the washovers south of the 40. _________________ The Trash Heap Has Spoken!
