Well I got home around 5 pm and decided to do some night peir fishing. A buddy of mine (Phil) went to Copano Pier last week and caught 8 nice trout. (on live shrimp) I took off around 10 and went to Causeway pier for some live Shrimp and live crab (they were catching black drum on copano peir with live crab). But the crab they had were too big. I made it to the Copano Pier around 11 (north side). I only fish the first light 2 lights and the last 2 lights. I went to the 3rd from the last light due to someone fishing the last light. The guy left with his limit of trout. He was using chartreuse sassy shads. I went the that light and used my Chartreuse DOA Cals and caught 3 keepers in 3 hours. It was 2:30 and I told myself that I would leave at 3:30. I started using live shrimp and caught my last 7 in a hour. I was free lining the shrimp with a split shot about foot and a half from the shrimp.
Most of the trout were 15 1/2 to 16 inchs, 2 of them push 18 inches
The fog got really bad and could not see the lights on the pier from the parking lot.
Well that my story
Thanks alot
Kevin

Way to stick it out, Kevin! I took my mom to the Copano this past summer. We got a lot of undersized trout and hardheads. No keepers but it sure was fun. I used to fish the Copano all the time when I first started saltwater fishing. Perhaps I need to get back out there. The most keepers I ever got from the pier at one time was like 3. Good job.
