What is your style of fishing? Lures,Tails,Tops, Wading? All these are important when purchasing a rod.

If you are tossing tails. The Allstar "Shrimp Tail" special is good. Looking for topwaters rod the "Emerald Edition" is good. Looking to wade fish and need all around rod I would check out the All Star " Coastal"

These are the only rod outside of all my customs that I use

Go to Nicks Breakaway. They have the best rods around. Just rob a bank on the way! Wink

Falcon's 6'9" light in the expert series is a great wading rod, about 160.00. They also make the same rod in the Cara & coastal series, but the expert is the way to go if you can spring for the extra bucks.

I think Adam is on it. I like the allstars. I am in the same boat you are - I'm currently using a ttf and want to switch. I don't want to spend a bunch either since I am pretty abusive to rods (not reels). They seem to find doorways rather easily in my hands. American Rodsmith has some decent ones too, but I haven't heard much about them.

Try the TTF Trout or Red Tamer rods. They're lighter than the Killer rods and less than $100. I've used them for almost two years now and no complaints. Lots of bang for the buck.

The past few years I've been using Berkley's Cherrywood series and have been quite pleased with them in salt water and fresh.

I agree. I've had my trout tamer for almost three years and just had to replace an eyelet for the first time. Not bad considering the damage I do to my rods.
