Wanted: Surf casters for shooting a HD short video.

I'm looking for average to good surf casters. Need about 10 - 15 people at one time. If we can get more, then GREAT!!! {I've posted on other local board too.}

Scene Layout: surf casters lined up about every 5 to 10 yards from each other and casting in synch one after another. This may take several castings to get all the castings and video right. You know how those casts can go some times, especially under pressure from someone watching. Laughing

Date: August
Place: South of Bob Hall Pier (or based on recommendation)
Day: On a Saturday/Sunday
Time: Just in time for Sunrise (6:30 - 7:30); And another date & time to be scheduled for Sunset shots.

So, let me here you say 'yea.

Please let me know if you are interested. Thanks.

You gotta love Corpus when you can get Crushed! Cool

Seems to me a thinly veiled advertisment for another hungry realtor. This should be in the classifieds if at all. Of course I could be wrong.

As for the photo, yes - only very partly so when ever I show off my GEM electric car.

I thought sharing the photo was MAINLY for pleasure - the Crush girls. They are certainly better to look at than most of us fishermen.

As for the Video, it's the real thing! I want to explore my creativity and develop a HD video of a synchronized surf casting down here on Padre Island and put it on the internet via YouTube, Yahoo, CorpusFishing, BreakawayUSA, CastnShoot, my website, etc. Credits would be added at the end for those people who helped with the project, including listing CorpusFishing.com, BreakawayUSA.com, etc.

I could just get the Crush girls and bunch of surf rods, then that would be too "commercial" like and that's NOT what I want to achieve in the video! I want to capture real fishermen/fisherwomen and show the grace of casting on the wonderful beaches here.

If I don't get enough surf casters, then I'll have to resort to getting some hot girls. Of course the pain staking time teaching them to cast could have benefits and headaches. I would have to stand behind them and help them through the casting motion. Geeez, I would have to do that with 15+ girls. And that would take so long time. Laughing Confused Shocked They certainly would be better to look at. Wink

Nothing personal , just venting , as this is a fishing forum and not for commercials. I wish you luck on your video . Have you tried contacting SFCCI ? How many girls and where will you be shooting ?

I am not sure just exactly what you are trying to do with the filming. Be aware. A valid permit issued by the superintendent is required for; filming or still photography for the purpose of commercial advertising as is; public meetings, gatherings, demonstrations, and public expression of views. It would be a bummer to get all those folks down there only to have a park ranger tell you to come back when you have a permit. I have seen them run off film crews in the past.

WOW, all I wanted to do was something creative. There's some elegance in casting like a golf swing. So, I just wanted to do something creative and fun to show a synchronized version of casting. Why do we talk about fishing or show pictures or anything else with others? To share our enjoyment and likes of something with other people. Everyone wants to be heard in one fashion or another. That's what you guys do on this forum: via words and some with pictures too.

That's all I was trying to do except via video format... to show the beauty of casting especially under specific lighting. It's not a commercial! Who ever said about a commerical? Rolling Eyes I didn't want to shoot down at PINS; I believe I said south of Bob Hall Pier.

This simple topic has gotten to be like that old game: say one thing in a kid's ear and have them say it to another kid's ear and so on. By the time it gets to the last kid, we have an elephant. It's like in a corporation too. And politics! I wonder why so many things get screwed up. Laughing

I might as well get some hot girls and shoot them instead. Rolling Eyes

Didn’t mean to hit a nerve. My main concern would be if you got 5 or 6 of the daily posters, 5 or 6 of the by weekly posters, and 5 or 6 of the weekly posters all in a line and a drunk drove by and took ½ of them out, I would have to find another site to help me reach my goal of coming home from a week of fishing with at least 6 reds and 10 trout all over 24”.

Since my first film in 1980, I know when you get a cast of 15 and crew together on location with camera equipment wherever for whatever, the cop on whose beat you are filming, is going to ask to see your permit. A trick some producers use is to hire a local cop for security sometimes bypassing permits and proof of liability. Any passing county sheriff or state trooper would think it was legit when seeing the local cop. I just wanted you to be aware of just one of the roadblocks you might run into on a venture of this magnitude.

Now if you got a keg and a grill full of steaks, 15 fishing poles, and just a few crush girls, and do one take before each beer with a hand held camera, you probably will not have any trouble. Might even get some good film.

Good thing my father, a retired NY State Police Chief, isn't one of those cops. Give him a Dunkin Donut and coffee and he's cool. Laughing

Laughing Wink

Give me a Heineken or a Budweiser Select and I'll paint anything. Laughing

I believe this was the original thought, (at least they way I would do it) How did it get blown into a full production movie with semi-trailers, megaphone speakers, directors stand & make-up artists, crowd control ect...now a permit??? Confused Confused

As for Packery Channel, recommendations were made to the City official -Ron Massey, Asst. City Mgr. who oversees the Engineering Dept., Wastewater, Water, Streets, and Solid Waste. He ignored lots of recommendations that I made for providing accomodations for fishermen and families at Packery Channel. As many have said, some people just have too big of egos and no other comments or recommendations matter! That's how the City Hall heirarchy works. That's why many managers and executive levels leave, especially if they disagree or find something terribly wrong with the system!

Contact Ron Massey or George Noe (Skip) City Mgr. for any recommendations and/or complaints about Packery Channel, Beach, Streets, Water, Wastewater, and anything else in the City. Better yet, contact a Councilman and let them know. Certain employees at City Hall wiggle and squirm when they get a call from the Council Members, especially when it's a complaint! They fear for their jobs!

Sorry Bluffer,

I'm ending the video concept HERE. I'll persevere and just gather some friends directly and some Crush girls. Wink I thought I tried something simple here that would be rather fast and wow. Rolling Eyes THE END.
