Need some advice. Bought a used Jeep Wrangler with a hard top roof. Have a Ocean Kayak Malibu II XL and want to carry it on top of Jeep's roof. Trying to decide if I can just tie the kayak upside down on top of Jeep or do I need some kind of rack. Don't want to screw up Jeep top or the kayak, but don't want to spend money on a rack I don't have to have. Any ideas, suggestions, or experience? Thanks.

OK with a hard to get some stiff foam and put it were the sides touch the foam and not your hardtop.
Next get some pull straps and tie the front of the yak to the front of your jeep and the back to the back of your jeep. alsp of you can tie a rope or strap through the top of your windows useing the scupper holes in the yak to firmly tie it down. This should work fine. If you still have problems, go to Wind and Wave and ask them to help, Jack the owner can get it on there for about 18 dollars, or just take your supplies there and they will help you as well.
let me know how this does.
Keep on Fishing
