This morning was calm and sunny, and Copano was a mirror as I paddled across the bay before daylight. I began working the shoreline as soon as there was light to see, knowing that with a full moon it would be a brief feeding period. Sure enough, I found fish during the first 90 minutes tight to the shorelines. I only managed three reds in that time and I blew it on several fish, but it was good enough for me. I paddled for a few more hours looking for more fish, and I finally found one. Ahead of me in a little cove beside a drain, a fish blew up right against the grass with a big pop and plenty of foam. I searched for the fish and finally saw the wake as it circled back to the grass. I put the lure up on the grass and pulled it to the fish. It worked, and the line went tight. The fish ran toward the boat and jumped ten feet away - it was a legal flounder. I reached for the net and quickly got the fish aboard. By the time I got back to the truck I had paddled 14 miles and was ready for some lunch. Laughing

I, too, caught a flounder Friday. At Turtle Bayou. Fourth cast. But it was 14-7/8"! I wouldn't have kept it, as I have found a 15" flounder doesn't have enough meat to justify cleaning it. A 16" flounder is almost twice as thick as a 15". My new lot minimum.
I caught several Subway(foot-long) Reds, limitied on Hardheads, then caught two Trout, 16" & 18". Made the day for me.
I thought about trying where you were, but assumed the water is still pretty fresh. Next time. TexasJim
