I love when we finally get a few days of cold weather, and I waded Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings. Fishing the deep edges of flats and along drop-offs paid off in big numbers! Saturday as the steam rose from the water i managed 29 trout and four redfish. Sunday evening was a bit better with 27 trout (including another 27" fish), ten reds and a flounder. Monday was cold enough that they converted college classes to online only so I did what any unreasonable angler would do - I went fishing. The day on the water was more about redfish, with 37 reds, eight trout and another flounder. Just before dark I hooked a 43" red that gave the little Vanford 1000 a real workout. Then Tuesday it was still cold but the sun came out and so did the crowds. Even with the increased traffic I managed 39 reds and 5 trout. Wednesday I don't know if the fish were still in that pattern or not, but I needed a good night's sleep. Now I'm hoping that Saturday will push the fish back into the deeper cycle so we can play one more time before I tire of the cold and start looking for white bass in the river.
