Went out mid-morning for a couple hours. Tried about five or six different spots from ugly water to stained water to Crystal clear water. Threw various soft plastics and the top water dropper combo and gulp under a cork. Had two little flare-ups on my top water by trout but no hookups. Heading back in and I'm making a drift and I'm getting dangerously close to the shoreline. I wouldn't be able to put my power pole down because it stopped working again. I said okay only two more casts than that's it. First cast, bam, I get a hook up and know it's a nice red. As I'm fighting it I keep looking back over my shoulder to see how close I am getting to the shore. Every time I get the red close to the boat he decided he was going to run some more. Finally I had to start the motor and start puttering away from the shoreline. Very slowly while I'm still holding my rod in the other hand steering the boat and trying to fight this guy to bring it in. Was able to shut off my motor and bring it in and finally netted him and just dropped him on the floor of the boat. Started the motor went away from shore far enough to grab the wires to my power pole touch it to the battery and lower it. Unhooked him from my sand eel, took pictures, released this 32-in guy and headed home.

I was going to joke about the cost of all the fuel you must burn every week...but for that beauty...well, it's worth every dime. And I know your freezer is full too. Nice catch.

Tom, I can probably come take a look at that wiring again this weekend.
Thinking we should replace the rest of it like we talked about and pull through an extra pull string while we're at it.
