Launched in the wet and fog. Was pretty chilly. First stop had little to no bait so we moved on to a different spot a little ways down. Saw a few bait fish flip around, decided to hop out. About 15 minutes into the wade we got our first trout and had a consistent trout bite for the next several hours. Ended up with about a 5 man limit with a few going over 20 inches up to 23ish on soft plastics. While fishing back to the boat hooked into a fish, the kind you set the hook and it feels like a snag. A long fight later I landed my new PB black drum on artificial, a home made soft plastic at that. About 10 minutes later hooked into another faster submarine that we never got to see. Possible big drum or probably red. All fish released to fight another day!

Here's the pics, 31 inch black drum.

Wow, I've caught one like that on shrimp, but certainly not on plastic! Impressive, and especially that it swam another day!!

Great little report. Appreciate and the cool Drum pic. I need to get that smile going on next weekend if the wind is not howling.

Thanks! When you're expecting a trout and this thing ends up chewing on your lure it'll put a smile on anyone's face! Lol
