|
|
I love this site, but i'm 3 hours away in Bulverde and it's hard to find current info on where the fish have been biting. The TPW reports don't mention the surf, Packery, or Laguna. I'm retired now and can go down there fast if I know it's worthwhile. I watch the moon phases and tides, but those can be great and still no fish.
No reports on this site since last June. |

All I can say about fishing reports right now is...with the water as warm as it is for this time of year (soltice), if you can't find fish ANYWHERE, you are truly a fisherman. Right now, anywhere you go, you'll find them. And with 90's here in the next few days, you'll find everything. Wear shorts. _________________ Fish ON! |

| "Oldsalty", I suggest you find someone who can advise you how the different influences on coastal fishing play part in catching. That being said, most fishing reports are historical, thus by the time you get to the location referenced in the report the fish probably are not bitting. If you truly understood the tide charts and moon phases and how they influence when the fish feed that alone could save you some trips. This is not to say those are the only factors which play a part in when to fish, because the wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, etc.,etc. all come to play. You might think about spending some of that hard earned retirement money on hiring a "teaching type" guide for a few trips to better learn the when and where of coastal fishing. BTW, Merry Christmas! |

| Thanks for the info Bayfly. But, I grew up on that coast and can read the surf breaks, understand the wind, moon phases, Water temps, currents, barometric pressure, etc. etc. I'm just looking for current info from whoever is catching fish and where. I even considered becoming a guide, but that's work. I'm 73 now and just want to relax and spend time catching fish in the area I know so well. My wife and I are planning to buy a home in Corpus in the near future. We've been in Bulverde for 26 years now, that's long enough. |

Weekly, usually late Thursday or Friday morning, four guides post their recommendations on local fishing:
Capt. Doug Stanford: Redfish Bay/ Port A/ Nueces Bay
Capt. Monte Graham: Redfish Bay/ Port A
Capt. Larry Bell: Rockport/ Copano Bay/ Mesquite Bay and North
Capt. Grant Coppin: Laguna Madre/ Nueces Bay/ Baffin Bay
You can find their reports at: TexasFishingTipsYoutube Worth watching. I don't know if there is a similar reporting site for Surf/PINS fishing.
Good luck, TexasJim _________________ TexasJim

Maybe some of you regulars on here who fish a lot can post info on where you are finding them. You don't have to detail where your honey hole is, but anything nearby that we can go to. I only fish the surf and will start reporting every time I find good action, even the mile marker.
This year i'm after that big 15 pound speck that my uncle Jarrell bragged about.
I'll report the weight and the length. They will all be released. Any legal small ones will be eaten. |

I will be leaving Wyoming in three days to migrate south landing on NPI for the rest of winter.
I usually hit the sand every weekday unless weather is bad.
I would be happy to post a brief report as to good or bad. |
