Was waiting for the sun to break out but never really materialized. Also winds picked up as the sun started coming out a little bit. Fished various spots with lures and with dead shrimp hoping to maybe pick up a drum or red. Fished pita, icw, cross channel from pita and Padre isles. Nada. Coming back in I came across two Green Sea turtles which I rescued and I have in my shop right now. Put vaseline on them to try to keep them from drying out. Hopefully they'll survive but they don't look good. Picked up and looked at a couple big trout reds and drum. Also rescued a guy and his son who were stranded out by my two minute honey hole.

Trout was 25

Red was 27

These are the stranded fishermen on high rescued coming back in.

by the way, this is a picture of my daughter-in-law from the newspaper this morning

Those turtles are cool! Glad yall trying to help them out. I never think twice about a freshwater turtle but those salty ones are just cool to see and watch. Never will forget a big one we saw offshore couple years ago. Looked like the size of a pickup bed and covered in barnacles.

Did you see many dead fish? I would think with this warm weather they would be starting to float by now? Good job on the turtles!!

Oh, so that's why I was hearing the gulls going nuts well into the evening last night

Just walked down to my docks, up the Channel from Zia.
Lots of dead finger and pony mullet but not as thick as down by Zia.

Did see a couple herds of horse mullet mulling around just under the warming surface and a couple sheepies chewing on the pilings
