December 19th is now declared wreaths across America by the U S Senate.
If you have never heard of it please Google it.
I would very much encourage you and your family members to volunteer laying wreaths on veterans graves that day.
My family has done this for three years now. The organization makes it possible for us to lay the wreath on our family members grave.
Then we spend the rest of the day honoring other veterans. Great learning experience for grandchildren!
