|
| I went out to do a little fishing tonight, only three dinks, when I get back to go put my boat up on a lift it won't work. I hear power going to the motor but nothing turns. Any suggestions[/i] |

With boat in slip, get a small stepladder so you can get face-to-face with motor and pulleys.
Can you turn the large pulley by hand (no power applied)? If so, when you do, does the motor pulley and motor shaft turn also? Or does the belt "spin around" the small pulley?
if it spins around the small pulley, the motor may be seized up.
Did you try lowering it a little more to see if that direction works?
Could the motor pulley be spinning on the shaft of the motor?
Is there a Reset button on back side of motor? _________________ "In your guts you know he's nuts" |

| It does not work in either direction. When I turn the large wheel the spindle on a motor turns so it's not seized. I hear a buzzing in a motor like electricity is getting there but it does not turn |

I guess it's time for an electrician to check that motor out. Are there other 120 volt items on that same circuit that are running fine? I have had breakers go bad and just provide 70 or 80 volts where some items would work, but some items need full voltage. Reset the GFCI? Grasping at straws here... _________________ "In your guts you know he's nuts" |
