Because if so, the ones at Port A wouldn't be standing today.....
Way back when, I took a picture of the first section of the Packery Jetties that failed (on the South Side, by the boat launch area), and really hadn't been back to that section for quite some time. Those piles of rocks on the right are that original FAIL part.
Was out in the area that TrashHeap worked so hard to finally get finished (per the original permit and Tax Increment Zone...), and was totally shocked.
This view is looking south, and the entire section of interlocking concrete pallets looks like an 'undulating cheap belly-dancer you would likely see in the $2 tent at a traveling Circus SideShow'.
SAD, is really the only word that comes to mind...... |

I've been to that supposed 'park' which is more of a parking lot on the north jetty several times pre-and-post Harvey. It was crap to begin with; wouldn't have built a house out of it much less a jetty. After Harvey though, there were so many sunken spots, you couldn't even slither down to the water's edge to catch your hung-up fish. I'm glad they re-dredged it, but if they don't plan on taking care of the re-dredge then what's the point? I give it 20-30 years before it silts in again. _________________ All things will pass.
