Mary and I got to the surf this morning south of Bob Hall just before sunrise. Things looked like they were going to be fantastic. Water fairly calm and no seaweed on the beach.
Coquinas and man-o-war making for beautiful pictures.
There were plenty of mullet in ankle-deep water and I brought some cut bait from home. Set up my three poles and sat back ready to catch fish. Then after 3 minutes this is what I got.
Cleaned them all off and put them out again. Three to five minutes later the same thing. Packed up and went home |

That is the worst feeling isn't it? All that anticipation, preparation, excitement and BAM!!! Seaweed ruins it all. Sorry your fishing trip was cut short. Thanks for the warning. |

When we were leaving we saw this washed up at the bowl. Talked to Turtle Patrol and they said it apparently had died from whatever cause and then was eaten by probably shark or something. They were waiting to take it back to the lab to do a necropsy and to see if it had any viable eggs.

Down south on pins, there was very little seaweed - water was good , driving was pretty good, lots of good size whiting - made it worth it - though i could not get a bite from anything else - i put out cut whiting , whiting head, nada. Pelicans were around - but kicking back, they were not feeding. Surprising lot of debris for just being nicked by the storm tide. _________________ Don - permanent prescription of salt water therapy. |

| yeah I've notice that for the past week - week-and-a-half the surf has been great for color, an there isn't much seaweed on the beach in big clumps, or in the water for that matter, but there are lot of small pieces that stack up on the lines. On the days that is has been clear, i have gone into the guts with googles and you can see the weed. May have to make a trip down south... |
