Haven't fish the surf in a while and look like no better day than today. Left the house about 8 and started going down Laguna shores and all of a sudden my warning alarm goes on and all the lights on my dashboard light up and then they all go out. Going down the road no problem and then all the sudden the truck dies. I was able to pull off onto a side street and about an hour and a half later got it towed over to Preston's Auto clinic. Went back and got to pick up and emptied all my stuff out of my beach truck and hit the surf anyway. Pretty frustrated by this time but I figured the surf would take care of that. Got to the beach and it was like a lake. Very very little ripple at the shoreline. Went down south to Bob Hall and set up three rods and lookef around for some mullet to cast up and there was not one bit of bait fish in the water. I mean nada. Threw some shrimp out and was catching whiting and hardheads but that was about it. Cut one of the whiting up and threw it out and didn't even get a nibble. Another frustration. Came home and jumped in the boat and went out to where I was catching them yesterday and caught one undersized trout. Finally went up to my two and a honey hole and I think I wound up catching and releasing 8 keepers. A lot of the fish I was catching were undersized so I switched over to a slow sinking twitchbait and proceeded to catch some quality fish up to this 22in

So, as an Old School FB Rat mechanic (on a 1999, 2000, 2003, and 2005 vehicles, all with between 110K to 212K miles on them), whats the prognosis on your truck?

BTW, I'd 2nd the motion on Preston's. If I can't fix it, they are just up the street for me.
