There was a cabin in the Shamrock area that was destroyed by Harvey. It looked like it had been abandoned for some time, but I'm not sure of that. Is there a way to find who owns/has the lease on the spot?

Thanks,

David

The Texas Land Commissioner's office is who regulates and keeps records on the land mounted cabins. You can go to their website and inquire. Each cabin has a number posted on it and if you have the number it will make it much easier to identify it. I seem to recall they are listed by longitude and latitude otherwise, and specific to bays. Here is their email address for you questions:cabins@glo.texas.gov

if you're talking about the old green cabin on the north side of Sinclair, it's number is PC1298....

contact the local TGLO Cabin Program folks as directed by the others...

Zoom in to the site. On the right side, Click the upland and coastal leasing and easements layer box to turn it on. You will see #s with dots. Click on the dot. This one is PC1298.

When you click it will pull up a box with info. That box pulls up info from every map layer under the spot where you clicked. Look in the upper left of the box and it says (1 of 4). Use the arrow on the right side of that box to scroll through (2 of 4), (3 of 4), etc. and you will see the names.

It only has the persons name and a little info about it if you click on the GIS Report Page link.

Yes, pretty easy. I put pc1298 in the search box. A box popped up with Coastal Lease PC1298. I clicked on the GIS report page.

Came up with: Mr. Charles Edward Whites
Mr. Eddie Whites

OP, is that the cabin you're talking about, or another one?

I have always thought it would be great to get that cabin, as it is in an awesome location....I just never had the flow to be able to afford it myself...

maybe we could get a corpusfishing group together and get in on that cabin and get another one built....

Yes, it is. I have emailed the GLO about the status and I'm hoping for an answer today. That's a great idea, Rebecca. I'll let y'all know what I find out.
