Any reports or statements from the rangers/border patrol about friends making their way from Mansfield up north on PINS? Usually go down with the family sometime over the Thanksgiving break and just wondering with the caravan.

I haven't heard anything like that. In fact it has been years since I have seen an illegal down there. In the late 90's and early 2000's yes but it really dropped after 9/11.

I don't think the caravan is expected to reach our southern border for a while, that if if they don't get a lift.
About two years ago I had two walkers walk by our camp down around the 58 mm.
Besides that, I haven't seen any walking.

Last year we had a guy walking down the beach without a vehicle in sight in either direction. Didnt say anything just kept walking til he was out of sight the other direction. Left that night and never passed him on the way out. We were in the upper 30s.

They still come thru. Saw a group of 3 a couple weeks ago in the 30s walking the water line. The ones you see are the ones that dont have a coyote picking them up or he no showed them. Theres a lot more getting picked up by vehicle that you probably dont notice.

Had a guy driving down the water line in a small 4 door car at sunset a few months ago. He drove under our lines, no fishing gear by himself. The next morning we picked up from our spot in the 40s and headed the the jetties, he wasnt anywhere to be seen. Probably drove down picked up someone or something and headed back at night during low tide.

Two years ago had about 3 trucks driving thru our camp making a bunch of racket at 3am. We get up, its the BP. They told us they were tracking a group that was in the dunes right by our camp.

Another time we had a couple guys walk back in the highest dune to use their cell phones somewhere in the 40s. This was well after dark. The next morning the BP comes down and asks us if we saw anyone messing around behind the dunes last night. Told them our guys went back to get cell reception. They said no problem and took off. So they are watching, probably with some high tech drones with infared or something.

Id be prepared but dont worry too much. I havent heard of anything horrible happening down there recently. Haha

Saw them years ago, probably before 9/11, asked for agua - couple of times, but that was all. BP friend told me, 'nothing wrong with giving them food and water - but do not let them get in your vehicle - thats the line you dont cross'.
