I just read that Nokie Edwards, long time lead guitarist for the Ventures, has died. One of my all time favorite instrumental players whom I had the pleasure of seeing TWICE with the Ventures at NASCC Air show concerts long ago. The local hot band that opened for them was the Zackary Thaks. Captain Mike and I went to school with some of the Thaks at Richard King a gazillion years ago. Just remembered that the audience was sitting on those small rectangular hay bales of old.

Hey Bruce, thanks for the info on Nokie. I did not know he passed. RIP Nokie.
Kind of ironic, you and I were talking about the "Thaks" the other day. You know we stay in touch with some of remaining guys from the group. I married (one of) the bass players sister.

Saw the Beach Boys on NAS, sitting on a hale bale, many, many, many Moons ago.
