We went to around the 18-19 caught a few whiting, one very large piggy perch, hadnt seen one of those in many years, moved down to 23-24, water looked very good there. We got into larger whiting - was hoping to hook into some reds - but didnt, down a couple of miles from us, a friend and his group tied into a couple of slot reds - but they I believe were there from Friday till sunday noon. They caught whitings, some pomp and those two slots.

I believe had we gone to the 23-24 area first , we would have done better, but we saw birds off shore around 18 - so had to stop.

This was my first trip in a long long time without catching a hard head - disappointing to my friend the heron, but I offered up a whiting that had been run over.

We caught some large pony mullet in the cast net, and smaller ones were constantly jumping around us - so there were fish around us - but we caught whiting - and nice ones several in the 15-16 inch size. Had 16 in the bag when we left for home.

Not a one, Dave, wonder if it was something I said ? Even the Heron was shaking his head !

And I taunted them a bit, I put on cut mullet along with the fishbites - little pieces on my whiting/pomp rig, then cut whiting, - then for the ultimate, shrimp with the fishbites. And no hardheads. And just thinking about it - my last three trips, 2 to bhp and sunday to pins, no stingrays either. Wow.

I would like a stingray though, early in the day so I could put out one rig with some or all of it for bait.

Donnie is on target with his report. Last two trips down Whiting have been on fire. Hardheads have left the building.
I did not catch anything but Whiting including my personal best at 18".
That Whiting hit on 5" frozen finger mullet.
I am contemplating a drive down tomorrow predawn for my last trip before going back to Wyoming.
