The east side of the spoil islands is all exposed flats.......Duck hunters will have quite a hike to get to their blinds.

Every Winter and Summer. You can gauge the low-ness of the tide by how many of the old trestle supports you can see when you come over the JFK. And you see them every Summer, just like the other day.

[I award 3.59 Super Secret Bonus Points to me for the use of low-ness in a sentence]

C.S. is right on the money. It's a seasonal thing. That being said last years tides were unusually high. I find it comforting to see this low tide at this time of year.

More Sage advice from an Old Salt. They were high, all around. And Al Gore was taking credit for 'sea level rise', but ..... DOH!!!!! That didn't exactly pan out. Oh Well..... Just remember, Opposite Seasons, Highs and Lows, for the Laguna. Winter/Summer and Spring/Fall. Just watch the resident population of white pelicans on the 2nd old oil pad 'road' as you come over the Oso. The more land you can see, the closer you are to the seasonal lows. Cool

the one thing I wondered, is where were the tides low when they were so high here.
