I sure would like to know what action that rod is. I mistakenly bought XH action on my 12' Tica Dolphin and the thing is like a pool cue.

Ahhh...the one piece Allstar...

Has to be 80# topshot...and GKRANE...the XH is for a very specific application...once you identify how to properly load it...that rod will catch VERY big fish.

Hey Tyler.

The rods is an old 12" Penn Powerstick. It is faster than an ugly stick but slower than the newer surf rods build on the breakaway style long distance casting configuration. The rod is out of production.

The reel is a Penn 9500. 80# shock leader and 80# Powerpro.

The sweet spot on this is about 12-14 oz payload. Caught quite a few sharks with this at Bob Hall. Rail is a little higher at Bob Hall to put your foot up there.

Also caught quite a few nice sharks on this rod at the port mansfield jetties. The rod is fairly forgiving slinging larger casting baits. No backlash with the spinning reel. And yes I have been spooled on this rod (December) by what ever that could not be turned off the port mansfield jetties.....maybe a foul hooked shark that got the best of me or maybe something that was in the larger shark category, but it dumped the reel no problem.
