I recently moved to from Austin, a city I love to the Cayman Islands. I made countless trips down to Rockport and Mansfield jettys and all points in between in search fish and more importantly my peace. After 2 weeks on island its still habit to look here for the lastest reports and conditions. I truly miss fishing this fall run and now see weather has been nice resulting in some good times!

Here are few pics of my new fishing spots!

Could hold jacks, mackeral and tarpon

crazy to have shade on a beach!

Snorkle spot

Kinda like pins right?

Tarpon are known to hang here.

Need to get here at sunrise for bonefish

The blowhole....dont insert your private parts Smile

If ever down in the Caymans I am more than happy to show you around!

Tight lines!

Darn, can't see the pic. It says you need to allow third party sharing or something. I don't feel too sorry for you if you are down in the Cayman Islands Wink

Really haven't fished much the last 2 months. Landing a bonefish on the fly has still eluded me. Super spooky and seem to know us fly guys but fun to stalk and see 10#ers in a foot of water Smile Tarpon along the beach front are conditioned to take fish scraps and an easy catch. Hope to have something worthy of posting this weekend after a chartered trip!

Please let me know when you return. I can get room rates as local at a nice discount!

Haxs, I'm sure we are not going to miss you in our Austin traffic, but I'm happy for you in your move to the Cayman Islands! We look forward to your continued reports from your new beautiful location.

Lots of baby tarpon in the housing development channels, early in the morning
before the traffic, pretty good numbers of barracuda on the flats around the main hwy. Need to go offshore for billfish, kingfish etc.
Hey check it out is the "Texas Bar" still there? My favorite place.
Very Happy

Lots of history there, seems the Bodden (sp) family was the oldest family there.

right on, that's what we found too, although there was a surprising lack of other fish loafing around in the marinas like you see everywhere (little snaps, parrotfish, grunts, etc.)...that place was kind of weird...diving the reefs, we saw absolutely ZERO grouper of any kind or size, so that was suspicious...I wanted to go to a fish market but never made it...

Eubanks is one of the big and oldest families there...

we hung out at Calico Jacks on the upper end of 7 mile....was away from the cruise ships and a lot more "local"...

If you have the opportunity fish Little Cayman for tarpon, one of the best places, we fished tarpon there on one of our trips with Jose Wejebe he was there doing some type of fishing show. Really a nice guy (RIP)

The Bodden family were there in the 1700's he was the appointed governer
sometime in the middle to late.

Another great time is diving the wall, AT NIGHT..... out frigging standing, and
scared the crap out of me.
