Check out how high the water is out at the end of the bob hall. This was a screen clip at about 10:45 pm (2245)

I've been out at the end when the waves were breaking on/over the pier. Rough ride that night lol. Most of the waves were like those shown, but every so often one would come in an break over it. Had to tie everything down that night or leave.

In my younger days, I remember those times and the feeling when one of those big waves would hit and the pier would shake. It didnt take that long for me to get the look at it all that I wanted - and head back to the east end of the pier.

This is what it looks like at the Bluff Landing Marina. If you look close you can probably see redfish tailing in the parking lot

Looks like the drain pipe from the Gulf got stopped up again and now it is starting to overflow. Whose turn is it to pull the stopper out? I did it last time. Wink

It ain't the storm way too our south. It's a combination of many things; monthly tide schedules, semi-annual bull tides, persistent east winds, long period swell pushing up on the coast,..... It's a bunch of stuff all happening at the right time.

Do a quick search of "tides" and "harmonic" analysis (which is how the tides are forecasted), and the 4 articles listed will give some insight to why the forecast and the 'real' tides can be so different and seem to catch everybody off-guard. (But in reality, these sorts of things happen every Spring and Fall, and the bays empty out and the Oso nearly goes dry every Summer and Winter...)

I don't know man, the tides' pretty high...and if you're telling me that its NOT storm induced, then I think we might have new data for MHHW....

sure wish the TCOON stations were up and running....thanks G.P. Bush! NOT!
