Went down and fished the Laguna with some friends that wanted to go last week. It was when Cindy was still in the gulf. Sorry for the late report. We had low tidess and little to no wind. Put in at Billings and ran down past Bird Island. On the way down stopped and cast netted some finger mullet and piggy perch. There was no shrimp at all the bait houses. Started throwing soft plastics and my boy was throwing a bone topwater. He had a couple blow ups and caught his first trout on a topwater. He loved that. We caught dinks and put a couple keepers in the boat. Worked our way back to the JFK catching dinks. Next day there was no wind. This day we stayed closed by and caught dinks. We ended keeping (7) 16-17" trout. This past Saturday we went to Canyon Lake and fished up river and the Tom Creek area. We caught a couple bass and a big perch. Headed to Amistad Lake this weekend. Happy 4th to all.
