| Looks like the tides are to the dunes according to reports. The tides are reported to be 1.7 high. I quess what i want to know when looking at the tide reports wat number wil mean the water will be to the dunes or close. |

[Prepare yourself for one of the most unsatisfying answers ever]
It Depends!!!
The "number" is something that is quite fluid, and is simply a guess (based on harmonic analysis of the many, many tide components - which are notoriously wrong at the fine scale). In a nutshell, it (the number you are looking for) depends on the season, the local weather, and what the long-term average of mean high water ought to be. So, you throw all that into the hopper, and BAM !!!!!! ... drive out to the beach only to find that the tides are to the dunes and you can't drive nowhere.......
Like I said, It Depends. |

The upside is when the tides does go down, the beach is packed hard and driving is a breeze. And Port A typically has some of the widest beaches around, so it takes an exceptionally high tide to wash you out there. |

Plus its a lot easier escape if you do get caught in a hard incoming tide. _________________ Great captains, the stuff of legend, are made not by what they have caught, but by what they have given back. |
