I apologize in advance for jumping on here and asking this when I don't even post on here that much...

But I'm in need of some of you locals help in finding a place to live for my son who will be a freshman at tamucc this fall in their engineering school.

The "college type" apartments are ridiculously expensive, small, and the leases are 100% to protect them and 0% to protect us. Never seen anything like it and I already have a daughter in College Station so this isn't my first rodeo..

Been through a bunch of online search sites...

Looking for a 1 or 2 bedroom, furnished (not 100% required), duplex/townhome/apartment (he may have a buddy get accepted that will share with him. Needs either a 9 month or 12 month lease, not 11 like a lot of them are.

We don't need the Taj Mahal like a lot of these places are! If I wanted a Cancun resort, we'd go to Cancun!

If anyone can point in the direction of specific places to look, or can refer me to someone local who can help, I (we) would be most grateful!

Thanks a lot in advance, and again, if I've committed an online faux pas, I apologize

Regards,
CA
(Steve)

FYI, any landlord's lease is generally landlord oriented, due to state laws being tenant oriented, thus the effort to offset the state laws. Hope you find what you need.

I lived at the Shores for a while when I was in school. I had a very affordable 2 bedroom townhome there.
